I have been a nature lover for as long as I can remember, a very special thank you to camping, late summer nights, and plenty of childhood neighbors to go exploring with. As a grown up, I am lucky enough to teach Environmental Education for my “job” and get to spend time in nature every single day. In 2012, we moved to 24 acres, with an additional 50 acres next to us that is also owned by family. I always tell my students (usually little ones) that the thing I like the most about my job is that I get to learn something about nature every single day. We see some pretty amazing things on this property – most of which I know nothing about! Lets face it, nature (or just this property) is a pretty big entity – I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by so many people that love to teach and learn that we can usually get to an answer.
I have been wanting to do this for a while but have never been brave enough to take the leap. But you see, there is this author (my friends will roll their eyes at how much I talk about her), Elizabeth Gilbert, that honestly changed my life. Sounds cliche, blah blah blah, but she literally makes so much sense to ME. Somehow whatever she says hits very close to my heart. So it is time… Time to be creative, be brave, and continue to be curious about this amazing world! For me, its also about honoring those that were here before us and those who will be here after us. There is a lot of history on this property that we are all still learning, and there was a lot of LOVE that went into making sure this is where we ended up.
I like to take photos, A LOT of photos! Thanks to digital photography, cameras in cell phones, etc this has become so much easier! All of the photos on this site are mine unless credit is given otherwise.
